Prague, 17 June 2024 – Carriers paid 1.5 billion crowns for driving on toll roads in May. The year-on-year amount of toll collection has increased by almost 14%, mainly as a result of an adjustment in toll rates and a newly introduced fee for CO2 production. The number of toll transactions processed exceeded 101 million, up only 0.7% year-on-year.
The CO2 air pollution charge brought in almost CZK 227 million (15% of the total toll collection) in May. The majority of the revenue, 80% of the total collection, can be attributed to the road use charge. Less than 5% of the total collection goes to externalities as a result of air pollution from traffic and traffic noise.
