Prague, 20 April 2023 – Operators of vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons paid 1.36 billion crowns in tolls in March. This is a comparable collection as in 2022 (slight growth of 0.6 percent). The number of toll transactions increased by 4.6 percent year-on-year to more than 102 million, mainly due to the expansion of the scope of toll sections in the second half of 2022.
For the entire first quarter of this year, the amount of toll collection reached 3.7 billion crowns. This represents a growth of one percent. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, the collection increased by almost 7.5 percent. For the whole of 2022, carriers paid 14.85 billion crowns in tolls.
At the end of March 767 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 593 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For these registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 607 thousand units to carriers.
