Prague, 18 July 2023 – In the first six months of this year, carriers paid almost 7.5 billion crowns on tolls. This is almost the same result as in 2022, when the toll collection was only 0.15 percent lower. At the end of the first half of the year, 622,000 vehicles had an on-board unit for the electronic toll collection system installed in their vehicles, of which almost 468,000 vehicles with foreign license plate numbers.
In June alone, toll collection reached 1.335 billion Czech crowns. With a year-on-year increase of 1.47 percent, June was the second strongest month so far this year and the third strongest month since 2007. The number of toll transactions, on the other hand, increased by 6.3 percent to more than 102 million.
At the end of May 791 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 616 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For these registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 622 thousand units to carriers.
