Prague, 19 November 2024 – Carriers paid CZK 1.617 billion in tolls in October, up 17.7 % year-on-year. The toll revenues exceeded CZK 1.6 billion for the first time in history. Since the beginning of this year, CzechToll has collected CZK 14.451 billion from carriers for driving on toll roads.
The number of toll transactions processed by the satellite toll system was also the highest ever. With the same number of working days, it grew by 3.6% year-on-year and exceeded the level of 108 million.
89% of the overall tolls collected since the beginning of the year were paid by carriers for driving on motorways. The remaining 11% was for fees associated with driving on 1st category toll roads. Domestic hauliers with vehicles registered in the Czech Republic have accounted for 46% of the total toll revenues since the beginning of the year, with more than half paid by foreign hauliers.
As at the end of October 875 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 693 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers. For the registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 658 thousand on-board units to carriers.
